The Graflex XL was manufactured in Rochester, New York, by Graflex Inc., one of America's most respected camera manufacturers. From the 1920s through the 1970s, Graflex cameras were trusted by generations of professional press photographers for their rugged construction and dependable performance.
Produced in the mid-1970s, the XL represented one of the company's final camera designs before Graflex was acquired by a Dutch manufacturer. The design continued under the Cambo XL name, a testament to its quality and enduring appeal.
Designed as a straightforward, professional press camera, the Graflex XL emphasizes reliability over complexity. Built to withstand the demands of newspaper and editorial photography, it offers solid mechanical construction with very few unnecessary controls or features.
This example is equipped with the standard Noritar 80mm f/2.8 lens and a 6×7 Singer roll-film back, producing large, high-quality negatives that are prized by medium-format photographers. While the standard lens is an excellent performer, a variety of additional Noritar lenses are also available on the used market at reasonable prices.
The camera is a rangefinder, providing quick, accurate focusing in a compact package compared with many medium-format systems of its era.
Whether you're a collector of classic photographic equipment, a film enthusiast looking to explore medium-format photography, or simply someone who appreciates beautifully engineered cameras, the Graflex XL is a remarkable example of American camera design and an important piece of photographic history.

The Member price: $420./Public price: $560.
